Many of the space’s details tell a story: Josephine bought the pink Murano chandelier at a European import store on the Bowery in the 1950s, bringing it home in a cardboard box on the subway. The portrait above the fireplace is a commissioned piece of Brittany’s grandmother, Joselyn, and great-aunt, Sandra. A majority of the paintings in the home were done by Brittany’s grandmother, and the living room mirror once hung in the Presidential Suite of the Waldorf Astoria—before its renovation, of course.
